Hotel-Restaurant Belvédère was built in the 19th century. Its first function was that of a gentlemens’ club. Later the doors were opened to the public and it became a café and restaurant. Early in the 20th century hotel rooms were created.

In 1961 the brothers de Wit from Amsterdam took over the company. They kept the Belvédère as a hotel until about 1968, after which it once again became a café/restaurant. Since 1991 their respective sons have taken over the reins; John and Jos de Wit. In 1998 they restored the hotel to its former glory and today you can enjoy the atmosphere of yesteryear - but with today's modern standards.
